Fall Trends: Sequins, Suits & Wild Prints

It is September, the light is changing, the weather is changing, and I am ready for fall! I love how the morning chill makes my first cup of coffee feel so much better in my hands. I look forward to the autumn colors, flowers, and changing leaves. Decorating my home for fall and Halloween with my kids brings back good memories of my childhood. My kids and I start planning our Halloween costumes. And thoughts of the upcoming holiday season start popping in my head. I just love fall! I also, love fall fashion. By the time September hits, I’m eager to rotate my closet with my fall/winter clothes collection. It feels so good when I start layering my clothes with scarves, hats, coats, jackets, boots and booties. I look forward to stylizing my old pieces with new ones as I shop for the season. It makes me especially happy, using my vintage pieces that are on trend for the new season.

There are so many fun trends this season: sequins and sparkle, all over animal prints, western boots, crystal accessories, power suits, peacock hues, and leather, leather, and more leather. One fall trend I am definitely embracing this year is animal print, and not just a bit of it, I’m talking head to toe and mixed up. I have always been a fan of animal prints. I already have several animal print items in my wardrobe: leggings, a few blouses, a jacket, a skirt, a couple pairs of heals, a robe and an amazing Nancy Gonzales. But I’ve never worn it head to toe until recently, and I loved it! Meow!

During my research for this post, I came across this ad in a fashion magazine for the Michael Kors Collection.

I have always loved red with leopard, but this bright red tartan print is over the top, and absolutely fabulous. I found this hat on the website www.michaelkors.com (already sold out in stores) and had to have it.

Once I get it, it will post some styling pics on Instagram

Another trend I’ve embraced already is the shimmery, tailored power suit. I mean business when I want to have fun and feel pretty.

So I will be getting my Nancy Gonzales handbag out of its dust cover, and I will start styling away with leopard, cheetah, python, crocodile, leather, sequins, and crystals, and who knows what else this fab fall season in fashion will bring us friends! Have fun ladies, the world is your runway!
